Changing permanent residence is probably one of the most important, but also the most time-consuming events. That is why we have prepared a guide that will make it easier for you to handle this stressful step with ease.
Change of permanent address
Probably the most important first step is to register your permanent residence at the city or municipal office, where you will receive a form on the change of residence. Don't forget to take the Title Deed with you to be sure, if you are not yet registered in the cadastre as the new owner, take the purchase contract with you.
Exchange of identity card
The exchange of OP is done at the police, usually it is the District Directorates of the Police Force, the Department of Documents. When changing the OP, it currently pays an administrative fee of €4.50, which you can buy at a checkpoint or at the post office. If you forgot to register your degree after finishing university, now is a good opportunity for you to do 2 things at once.
Notification of change of address at the authorities
This step is necessary and at the same time very unpopular due to its difficulty. So we add at least a list of the most important offices:
- Employer
- School (including your children's school)
- Health insurance
- Social Insurance
- Banks
- Insurance companies - don't forget to cancel the insurance of the apartment you sold. At the same time, upon deregistration, the insurance company will refund the money for the unused period.
- Leasing companies (cars, equipment, etc.)
- Mobile operators
- Mail + change for everyone who sends you mail. Here we recommend using the mail forwarding service to a new address. You will avoid a lot of complications with lost or unclaimed mail, especially from authorities that send notices or statements once a year.
Change of address for entrepreneurs
If you run a business and have your registered address at your original address, do not forget to report the changes to the Trade Office or the Commercial Register, on the website and in the lists where your company is registered. Don't forget to report changes to banks, insurance companies, mobile operators, but also to institutions such as social or health insurance, tax office.
Change of address on the Cadastre office
